| The Main Street, U.S.A. Collection is a series of architecural models replicating buildings found on Main Street, U.S.A. at the Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Park in Orlando, Florida.
The collection was started with the notion of creating a Christmas style village, with a working train being able to go around the village. The village would be completed with characters and vehicles to create an interactive architectural model. Through collaborative efforts with Olszewski Studios, headed by renowned miniaturist Robert Olszewski, Disney is proud to present these state-of-the-art reproductions of Main Street, U.S.A.
Each design has been carefully crafted to retain the "magic" of the Magic Kingdom Park, exquisitely detailed with special lighting allowing the collector to view the park both at daytime as well as nighttime. The buildings have been created in "Z" scale (1/220th) with doorways and windows enlarged to create the illusion that the vehicles and characters relate to them. Characters and vehicles have been created in "N" scale (1/160th).
Provided below is a list of buildings, vehicles and characters released to date just for the Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Main Street, U.S.A. The program continues to evolve with the priority focused on releases for the buildings found on Main Street. Once all of the Main Street items are released, re-issues will be made for those items that are no longer for sale at the Park. Of note is that the Disney World Platform is different than that created for the Disneyland Main Street, U.S.A. The planned release date for the Disney World Platform will be sometime in 2011 and this will be sold exclusively by Olszewski Studios. When the platform becomes available notifications will be sent to those who are on the Olszewski Studios email list. If you want to be on our email list, please click here.
For your information, the Main Street Collection is a continuity program meaning that once all the Main
Street items planned for the Walt Disney World Main Street, U.S.A. Collection are released, we will go back to re-issue those designs that are no
longer available. Also, please note that the Disney World platform which houses the buildings similar to the Disneyland Main Street, U.S.A. Collection will be released in 2011. Note also that the WDW Platform is different than the Disneyland Platform. Additionally, each building is uniquely designed for Walt Disney World. There are no Disneyland buildings that can be used in the WDW Platform.
As for other parts of Walt Disney World, The Disney Company, at present, is committed to only releasing Main Street and its buildings. We
hope to be able to do other parts of the park eventually, but Disney will only
commit to small portions of the park at any one time. So when we finish Main
Street, then we will see if they will commit to another area of the park or
perhaps design various attractions for them. One additional item that has been of interest to some collectors is the mechanical road development which is ongoing and at this time too early to make any delivery commitments.
